Keith Limbert

4th Dan KUGB

Keith started his Karate training in 1972 at the Birkenhead YMCA Shotokan karate club, which was run by sensei Frank Cope (3rd Dan). Whilst there he attained the grade of 1st kyu, and was fortunate enough to train with both Enoeda and Kanazawa sensei’s.

After a break of almost 30 years he started training again at the Handbridge Shotokan Karate club, run by sensei Mike O’Connor (6th Dan).

The Handbridge club was recommended to him by sensei Bob Poynton (7th Dan), and it turned out to be an excellent suggestion. Under the instruction of sensei O’Connor Keith was able to achieve his grade of 1st Dan after just 18 months training.

On 30th October 2011 he achieved the grade of 2nd Dan (Nidan) in Lichfield, from sensei Andy Sherry (8th Dan) & sensei Bob Rhodes (7th Dan).

On the 4th of October 2014 he graded to 3rd Dan under sensei Andy Sherry and sensei Bob Poynton.

On the 2nd October 2021 he graded to 4th Dan under Sensei’s Frank Brennan, Jimmy Brennan and Billy Higgins.
